Join Our Team!

Beachside Counseling is a boutique virtual private practice providing teletherapy services to individuals and couples throughout California. We are a values-based practice that prioritizes compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard in our work with clients and with each other. The mission of the practice is to help all clients find hope, healing, and happiness while working through barriers from the past and present that hold them back from their ideal life.

Founded in 2021 by Christine Tomasello, LMFT, Beachside Counseling was created to provide high-quality, accessible therapy services to various communities and populations throughout the state and strives to be a safe and inclusive therapy space for all clients. We are a self-pay practice that offers full rate, “pay what you can” rates, and Open Path rates to clients in financial need to ensure our services are accessible to a variety of socioeconomic statuses.

Christine identifies as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and specializes in grief & loss, life transitions, fellow HSPs, and therapy for therapists. She combines an inclusive, trauma-informed approach with a strengths-based and psychodynamic lens in her clinical work, and integrates aspects of narrative therapy, attachment theory, CBT, ACT, SFBT, and DBT in her interventions. Beachside Counseling supports ongoing development for all therapists and encourages Associate Therapists to explore various modalities and theories as they develop their clinical skills to see what orientations work best for their clinical practice.

Our ideal candidate has an interest in grief & loss, working with Highly Sensitive People, or providing therapy for fellow therapists.

Land Acknowledgement

Beachside Counseling acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homelands of the Ramaytush Ohlone, Kumeyaay, and Coast Miwok Peoples. We recognize them as stewards of these lands, and we honor and respect all people, past and present, of these nations who have cared for the lands on which we live. We recognize that the unjust pain and suffering that occurred during the colonization of these lands made it possible for us to be here, and work to honor and celebrate their present and future presence on these lands.
